American Fork Half Marathon

All the runners at the starting line! MAN it was cold up there!
At 5:00 in the morning at at the top of the canyon I guess what else could you expect? We were all huddled together to keep warm.  Nancy and Kelly ran it with me, I think I see us in line for the porta-potty. Haha....

Here we go!
Oh, just a little mid-race jump action!
Haha, this was not easy to do, mind you, after running about 5 miles!
(they told us to do something funny-that was the best i could do at the time ha)

Home stretch.

Finally, the finish! Wahoo!

13.1

I ran the AF Canyon half on Saturday.  Here's the start line, we had to be there sooo early (4:30 a.m.) but it was so pretty up there at sunrise I suppose it was worth it.

Lo and behold, look who's picture was at the start and the finish line! The race was a cancer fundraiser and we were able to submit a picture beforehand of loved one.  I had no idea they would use the one I submitted, especially considering how many runners there were.  What a great surprise!  So great to see her there with me at the start.

You can't tell by the picture, but this was as big as a giant movie screen.  It was pretty cool.  And all along the course they had signs with names people had submitted and why they were running for them.

Just running along... The course was so beautiful, down the canyon next to the river.

Almost done, phewf.  This is my new favorite race.  Who's with me next year?

13.1

So maybe it was freezing cold, raining, and 8 miles uphill in St. George.  Awesome.  But we did it!

Ready, Set, Run

T-Bone and I are running the St. George half tomorrow.  Sarah, if you're not busy, come visit!  Bring your angel friends too, because I know you have a million by now.  Please watch over us because our training was, ahem,  mediocre at best.  But we'll do our best, because this race is for you.  Luckily KK made us each these angel pendants (with your initial) and it will be with me every step/walk/run of the way.

Remember last time we were there?
