Back In the Day...

After I graduated college I, like anyone else, hit the pavement and started looking for a job. That task turned out to be a lot harder than I thought it would be. After filling out applications for over a year, I finally got a job at LDS Hospital. That was 9 years ago. And although that particular job wasn’t the best suit for me, look what I got out of it….

(T-Bone makes a special visit to Utah and this is the ONLY picture we took)

Life-long friends. I know now that I had to wait for that particular job. Otherwise I never would have met these lovely ladies. First I met Angela (not pictured) at the fax machine. Then Sarah, in the training room, and Katie (aka T-bone) in the cafeteria (at the 8th and C cafĂ© to be exact). Friendship quickly ensued. This included about a million lunches together, a kajillion emails back and forth, many visits at each other’s desks, and almost daily trips to the hospital gift shop to get a snack. Oh, those were the days. We won’t mention the accidental “reply to all” emails from Sarah that went to the whole hospital. Lol.

And even though two of you chose to move out of state (boo!), rarely a day goes by that I don’t talk to one or all of these girls. We like to call ourselves The Wolf Pack, or the A-Team. Not really, but it just sounds cool. These days though, we DO call ourselves Team Sarah.

Candace (pictured) never worked at the hospital with us but she may as well have :)

Birthday With My Besties

A night with just the girls is rare these days, but we managed to pull it off. Oh, how I heart these besties. Ofcourse, not all my besties are in these pictures, but, you know who you are :)

And Sar-Bear being able to join us, how great is that.

Hamming it up for the camera. Looks like a great engagement pic guys...

And KK managed to fit herself into that tiny, blue bag--a present just for me...

Free dessert, get in mah bell-ay...

KK put signs all over the living room describing ME on my b-day. This was the best one.

Oh KK,
you know me too well.

Good, No Great, Friends.

Tonight was KK's bridal shower, and I didn't even think to take any pictures the whole time but as were leaving we took this one last-minute picture. And I'm glad we did because 1. Look how cute we all are and 2. It made me stop and think about the great friends that I have.

Friends can get us through good times and bad, and bring many, many (and I mean many) moments of laughter. Because of some recent events, Candace said on the way home tonight that we need to make more memories. And I am all for that, but I was thinking, we already have so many great ones. And I'm grateful for every single one of them.

Bragging Rights

So we did a 30 day challenge at work==no sweets, no soda (not even diet soda, guys). I'd be lying if I said it was easy. It wasn't. It was brutal. There were days the cravings were so bad that I almost checked myself into the rehab place in Orem. (Lindsay Lohan went there, guys--so you KNOW it works.) But I am happy to say I did do all 30 days!

Not drinking any diet soda was actually worse than having no dessert. But it feels good to have kicked the habit. For now anyways...

Dear Diet Coke, even though I pretty much don't drink you anymore, you still complete me.
